Smoky Hill Sharks

All practices are held at the Smoky Hill Pool.

Great White Sharks (GWS): 15-18 years old. This group has the most advanced swimmers on the team. They have all the strokes down. They are the leaders of the team and it is crucial they understand their role on the team. They are flexible to do what the coach needs. They are making practice consistently to build stamina.

Hammerhead Sharks (HS): 13-14 years old. This group has all the skills required to be a Great White but have a practice group all their own. While they still practice with the Great Whites, they will receive their own special attention from coaches to learn how to become the next leaders of the team.

Mako Sharks (MS): 11-12 years old. Right on the verge of taking it to the next level. Their strokes are proficient when it comes to technique they need to make small changes and to build up endurance/speed.

Tiger Sharks (TS): 9-10 years old. Need more stroke work and stamina. They know all 4 strokes and are ready to embrace more advanced technique on the strokes. Naturally will build endurance by swimming more and working the correct technique.

Mini Sharks (Minis): 8 & Under. The younger kids/ beginning swimmers who need more work cleaning up technique in order to help them swim more efficiently.

All Team Practice: New to 2026! Weekly All-Team Practice every Friday, 7:30–8:30 a.m., to boost team spirit and mentorship!

DQ School: DQ School is a focused practice session where swimmers work one-on-one with coaches to correct the specific mistakes that led to disqualification at the previous meet; attendance is by coach invitation based on meet results.

***Groups will be set by AGE and Stroke Technique. Some swimmers may be moved at the coach’s discretion to another group.

All Star Practice is July 13th through July 17th from 8am to 9:15am each day.
